Following a public tender organized by RATB, EvoBus (part of Daimler Group) signed the contract with Bucharest transport operator for the delivery of a second consignment of 500 Mercedes Benz Citaro urban buses.
A team of bpv GRIGORESCU lawyers, led by partner Anca Parascan, advised EvoBus, leading full-line supplier on the European bus and coach market, throughout the entire transaction process. The support provided to EvoBus included legal assistance for the preparation of tender documen-tation and support during negotiation of the public procurement contract with RATB.
According to the terms of the contract signed in September 2007, the first 50 Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses will be delivered by EvoBus in December 2007 and the remaining 450 are to be delivered by the end of 2009. This is the second transaction concluded by RATB and EvoBus after the first acquisition of 500 city buses in 2005.
"Usually, public procurement transactions can easily turn into time consuming deals due to additional re-quest for clarifications and claims raised by the participants in the tender. In the case of this deal, due to the professionalism of the teams involved, everything went smooth and therefore the deal was concluded in less than 4 months", says partner Anca Parascan. |
