In the context of the recent decrease in oil prices which is causing turbulent times for the oil & gas sector, our team of lawyers at bpv Grigorescu Stefanica is organising a Breakfast Briefing focused on “Restructuring in the Oil & Gas Sector” on 19 May 2015.
The event addresses the stringent need of the sector to rethink strategies and take measures for ensuring business sustainability over the short and medium term, and examines the following topics from a practical perspective:
- Restructuring: compulsory procedures, implications, unwanted consequences of failure to comply; measures imposed by reduction of activity leading to suspension of individual labour contracts and collective labour contracts; elimination of job positions – avoiding employees’ dismissals and potential litigations;
- Transfers: company transfers, outsourcing of activities – do’s and don’ts;
- Labour disputes and dispute resolution: protecting the company in disputes with laid-off employees – strategy, deadlines, evidence, recommendations; settlement agreement in labour litigations – advantages and disadvantages, how to settle based on the litigation phase;
- Insolvency: the impact of the insolvency procedure on oil and gas regulatory aspects; the effects of insolvency on commercial relationships and litigations.
