Daniel Ştefănică


Daniel Ştefănică joined the firm as Partner and co-head of Litigation and Arbitration, upon a successful merger process effective on March 2011. Previously he had been managing partner and founder of one of the most influential law firms in Romania, with notable transactional and litigation practice. By merging his practice, Daniel Ştefănică added complementary expertise and a solid litigation platform to the firm’s existing team and services.

Daniel Ştefănică is well versed in handling complex litigation and commercial disputes, including contentious proceedings pertaining to fiscal and regulatory governance. With more than fifteen year experience in front of trial and appellate courts, he represents clients in virtually all types of civil and commercial matters, with particular emphasis on contract disputes, distribution arrangements, shareholder and investor claims, regulatory matters, administrative and property law.

Daniel Ştefănică has extensive practice in the energy sector, coordinating a variety of projects, involving green-field investments and up/downstream developments related to electricity and heat co-generating systems, gas market, renewable energy and biomass conversion. He also boasts a broad expertise in legal matters implicating the public sector, advising both private and state owned corporations on public offerings, utilities and infrastructures, corporate governance and system assets, concessions, PPPs and procurement.

Daniel Ştefănică is a law graduate of Bucharest University and holds a post graduate diploma in International Tax Law from Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland. Currently, he is enrolled in the academic graduate program of the Bucharest Faculty of Philosophy. He is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association and American Bar Association. Apart from his native Romanian, he advises in English.
