bpv GRIGORESCU congratulates the award winning Romanian students who participated in the European Law Moot Court Competition – ELMC21 March 2007
On 20 March 2007, bpv GRIGORESCU organized a cocktail to congratulate the award winning students from the Law Faculty of the University of Bucharest who participated in the prestigious international contest European Law Moot Court Competition – ELMC, organized under the patronage of the Court of Justice of the European Communities.
bpv GRIGORESCU is one of the sponsors of the Romanian students who participated in the ELMC regional final in Maastricht (Holland), where Georgiana Ianus came first in the Attorney General competition, ahead of the Harvard University representative who got the second place, and the entire team got the third place in the teams competition (after the Harvard University and the Stockholm University teams). On 16 March 2007, Georgiana Ianus, who worked with bpv GRIGORESCU before her departure to Germany on an academic scholarship, participated in the contest final and was awarded the Best Speaker special prize, a distinction which is not awarded every year.
“The event is part of our strategy to support and attract young and talented future lawyers to whom we want to offer the possibility to benefit from highest level training and successful careers in business law”, said Mr. Catalin Grigorescu, Managing Partner of bpv GRIGORESCU.
The strategic approach of the firm in supporting the professional development of the lawyers with whom it cooperates is based on identifying talents even in college and offering them an optimum environment to achieve their potential, in view of a successful career up to partnership. Among the programmes addressed at top students we mention Meet-a-Partner® – where the selected participants have the chance to spend half a day with one of the firm’s partners and get first-hand insights into the activity of a transactional lawyer in a firm with international outreach – and the summer internships.”
