Tax Administration supports the business environment in the COVID-19 context

According to a press release[1] recently published on the website of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (“ANAF”), in order to support the business environment in the context of COVID-19 outbreak, ANAF will take a series of measures applicable both during the period of state of emergency in Romania and subsequently.

Among these measures, the most important ones concern: the suspension or non-commencement of budgetary debts enforcement, the VAT reimbursement related to tax returns for which the decision was made and the implementation of a new VAT quicker reimbursement mechanism for tax returns, the suspension of certain actions of fiscal control (fiscal inspections, anti-fraud controls), of anti-fraud actions regarding Filter II and of the specific activities from the Border Crossing Points with Hungary and Bulgaria.

In addition, the deadline for submitting the fiscal statements until March 25, 2020, is postponed until April 25, 2020.
